2nd Multidisciplinary Conference on Educational Research

General Information

CIMIE 2013 will be held on Thursday 4th and Friday 5th of July in Tarragona (Catalonia, Spain)

The first day will be focus on several areas of educational knowledge. During the second day, some educational topics will be presented. AMIE contributes with CIMIE conferences to promote a research culture based on the scientific and human excellence.

Papers selection process will be carried out through blind peer review. It will be organized by session chairs of each topic and area.  Additionally, speakers will be invited to the round tables.

Every person that will present a paper, as well as reviewers or session chairs (by issues/areas) must access to an Open Online System available in AMIE’s Portal.

Any query about issues related with the different groups (by issues or areas) will be referred to session chairs. General Queries about the conference organization will be sent out to the local committee though this electronic address: [email protected]

General Procedures and Regulations

Proposed papers must follow the following criteria (proposals which do not satisfy any of the eligibility criteria will be refused).

(a) Originality. Every contribution must be an original work not presented or published in any formats before.

(b) Sending. Every contribution must be written in a narrative style, whether it is a work in progress or a final version. Schema, outlines, sketches, PowerPoint presentations or any non-narrative style paper will be refused. Papers cannot be sent to more than one work group.  Otherwise, the paper will be automatically rejected.

(c) Proposals must be sent before deadline. Received Proposals beyond the deadline will be refused.

(d) Words limit.  Papers that exceed word limit will be rejected.

(e) Conference Attendance. The corresponding author is assumed to take part in the conference. Sending a paper involves the attendance. For the final acceptance of the paper, every author must be registered to the conference before the registration deadline. After this date, if any of the authors is not subscribed, the paper will be refused. If any co-author cannot attend to the conference due to an emergency or similar circumstance, please contact the CIMIE Coordination in order to determine a proper decision.

(f) Authors cannot be in more than one accepted proposal. It will be taken into account the research in group; in this sense, an evaluation criterion of presented papers will be the work of groups, without a limited number of authors.

(f) Authors cannot be in more than one accepted proposal. The work will be evaluated as a team work. Working in teams is an evaluation criterion of presented papers. There is no limit of authors in a paper.

 (g) Review Process. Every received proposal will pass a peer review process, anonymous (double blind). Therefore, proposals may not contain auto-references or obvious references.

If a work is accepted and included in the program, the following rules must be applied:

(1)    Every author must be registered to the conference.

(2)    Authors must upload a final version of their communication in the conference on-line system before the deadline.

(3)    Authors of accepted proposals must present them during the conference. In case of any inconvenience or emergency that affects the attendance to the conference, authors must immediately notify it to the conference coordination,

Important Dates

From October 1th, 2012 to December 23th, 2012. Call for papers.   23th, December 2012 Online application will be closed.

1st of March, 2013. Paper Acceptance or Rejection notifications will be sent by e-mail (by coordinator of issues/areas)

From March, 1st, 2013 to March, 31th, 2013. Dates to formalize the registration  for accepted papers.

From March, 1st, 2013 to May, 1st, 2013. Dates to formalize the registration for attenders.

Sending of proposals (From October 1th, 2012 to December 23th).

Every proposal must be sent by using the papers receiving system “Conferece Open System” (Public Knowledge Project). Proposals sent by e-mail, mail, fax or other kind of media that is not assigned for it will be rejected. Upload Papers

(a) You must register in “Registratrion” part inside application to send proposals for papers. Once you are registered as author, then you have to choose the topic or area where you want to send your contribution. The system will redirect you to the option “send contribution”.

(b) System will ask you the following information:

1. Area or topic where you want to send your paper

2. Title. Papers Titles Have To Be Written With Capital Letters In Every Word Of It. (Title Style)

3. Abstract. You have to attach an Abstract up to 120 words.

4. Permission for recording your presentation. We will request your consent for recording your presentation or the presentation of your colleagues.

5. Keywords. Introduce keywords about your communication. Keywords will be used for organizing the contribution index.

6. Research Method. Name the research method that better describe the one used in your communication (conceptual/theory/mix method/ quantitative or qualitative)

7. Requirements: Let us know if you would need any special medium or infrastructure (projector, Power Point, Speakers, Slides, etc.).

(c) Indicate your name, surname, institution membership and e-mail of the authors (if applicable)

(d) Attach the file with the completed proposal. Paper should have up to 2.000 words (no more), excluding references, tables, graphics and pictures. You will be able to upload just a single file to the system. In this sense, bibliographic references have to be added at the end of the document. You have to follow APA 6th Edition Style as citation style. We recommend following this structure on the papers:

(e) Every paper must follow these regulation norms. Otherwise, it will be rejected. Once the submission process is done in the online system, and the paper is attached, the system indicates that the process has been successfully concluded. If this message is not shown, please, check all the fields of the submission are filled.

People interested in the publication of their papers in the CIMIE website must indicate it in the on-line paper application form.
